This weekend and the weekend before, state elections were held in Germany, in two federal states. Both election outcomes were resounding defeats for Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD). Elections were held in Schleswig-Holstein and North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), but only slightly more than half of the populations showed up at the polls. Out of 13 million eligible voters in NRW, 6 million voters decided to reject Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and his SPD in Berlin. Here are the election results.
